I’m Darren Charters, a member of the Board and also serving on the Pastoral Search Committee. In our last update on July 10, we mentioned that we were moving forward with a candidate for the Lead Pastor position. Since that time, members of the Search Committee and their spouses met for informal discussion with the candidate and his spouse, and we have also solicited input from current and past employers. As result, we have unanimously agreed to move to the next stage of the process – asking him to preach at WPA, followed by a special congregational business meeting where members of WPA will have the opportunity to vote to approve him as our new Lead Pastor. We look forward to providing more details to you in the next couple of weeks. Please continue to pray for this significant stage of the process for both WPA and the candidate.
