I was rear-ended by a 19 year-old guy. The bumper needed to be repaired but no other significant damage. I got two estimates at $1,250 and one at $665, which seemed too low to be real. After verifying the quality of the low estimate, I agreed to go with it and told the young man, who definitely did not want to go through insurance, that I was extending grace and mercy to him by accepting the lowest estimate. He was grateful to be the recipient of that grace and mercy. I think I showed him that we don’t all have to be adversarial with each other, even when wronged.
